Wholly Conscious Decision Making for Dummies

From a young age ideas are ingrained in us:

  • seek security at all costs
  • keep moving up and up and up
  • bear the weight of your exhaustion
  • count your blessings
  • don’t complain
  • never be a quitter

But what if when we start to really question whether this is how we want to spend our days, and ultimately our lives, we realize we already have our answer?

Do you have a personal mission statement? Do you know why every company does?

Do you have a values list you turn to… in ranked order… when you are faced with major life decisions?

Can you guess what my top 3 values might be? 😉

This is just a sample of the journey I take with my coaching clients, but it’s starts with the very first call. It’s that important. It’s the baseline for all other work we do together.

I wrote an article not long ago called A Series of Reactions, as most of us react react react to life’s circumstances and then we die. Having never really made wholly conscious choices along the way.

Your PMS (not that one) and Values List are used to make sure what you are doing, is aligned with who you want to be in the world and how you want to show up for your partner and friends and family.

It doesn’t guarantee, but is guaranteed to assist, in assuring that when you are on your deathbed you don’t look at those surrounding you and say, “what if my whole life was wrong…?”.

This is the journey. This is what professional coaches are trained (sometimes for our whole lives!) to do.

We only get one ride… make it count.

See you on the journey…
