Cold day here in Charlotte. Cold enough that I spent the afternoon winterizing @LadyLolaMae
Ain’t she a beauty?
This article from Nature Photo Guides was quite useful should you find yourself in the same predicament.
25 degrees tonight…but I’ll still take it over Michigan any day.
Back to this project. About half way through the beginning of a rant revolving around the store not having the right kind of RV antifreeze… I caught myself.
What am I complaining about?
What do any of us…really… have to complain about? Ever?
Then I remembered this post from awhile back. These words always help me bring it back into perspective.
If you can attend an ideological meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death…you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation … you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep…you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace … you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.
If your parents are still alive and still married … you are very rare, even in the United States and Canada.
If you can read this article of perspective, you are more fortunate than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.
Of course, as I see the world today (especially on social media), perhaps that’s not such a bad thing….
Keep it. Remember it. Print it out. Bookmark this post.
Reference it when you need a little perspective on what went “wrong” in your day. Then, add up all the things that went right…of which there are hundreds…every day.
Start with the fact that you’re able to read this, likely on an expensive piece of electronics, and have both the free time and free will to do so. Spiral out from there.
See you on the journey.
